Re: Where do you plan to retire?
We love Florida, so somewhere warm and near the ocean. I'm mesmerized by the sound of the waves hitting the shore. Nothing is more relaxing for me.

Re: Where do you plan to retire?
I own 7 1/2 acres at Truman lake in Missouri that I hope to retire to someday. Or at least be a consultant from home.

Montana, Washington, or Oregon. After spending the past four summers in Montana and visiting Seattle a couple of times and Portland once, I'm in love with the pacific northwest.

Where would you like to live. We have been retired for six years and we keep our home in Altoona. When we are not at home in Altoona we travel in our motorhome. That way wherever we want to live we just take the motorhome there and make that "home" for a while.
That gives us the option of going south or southwest for the winter and north for the summer. We visit kids and relatives along the way. We just got back from a four week long motorhome trip with our 12-year old granddaughter. She gets her choice of a trip to take each summer. This summer's choice was the Grand Tetons/ Yellowstone/ Theodore Roosevelt Nat'l Park/ Devil's Tower/ Black Hills/ Bad Lands trip.
We find that this life style gives us a lot of flexibility as well as a home base near ISU to operate from. It's not for everybody but it does allow us to live wherever we want to and however long that we want to stay in one place.

Personally, I'm thinking Durango or maybe St. George, Utah.

Re: Where do you plan to retire?
I alwaya wanted to retire in Phoenix for the golf and weather so I did. The weather is ideal for me but the state is so full of Right Wing Nut Jobs like our governor Jan Brewer and super Idiot Sheriff Joe Arpaio that I need to let out a primal scream every few days just to stay nearly sane.
Hawaii would be perfect for me but that takes lottery type money that I don't yet have.

People from Alabama think Alabama is great, and people from Los Angeles think Los Angeles is great, but I'd hope that native Iowans would be less ignorant.

Somewhere that doesn't have income taxes.
