Nope, I have never had it. The only problem is, if something breaks they will try to get you to pay for it. But that can be fixed with a call to customer service.
They will also take care of any internal wiring issues you have, but I have never had any that I could not fix myself.

I've never had the plan, but I've had receivers crap out with both Direct and Dish, and had to pay for new ones both times. Still would rather roll the dice than pay for the plan though.
