I'm having shoulder surgery Friday morning, I'm going to miss probably the first half of season. Sucks balls, but I have Directv & a big screen. I'll get by, I'm just going to tailgate extra hard when I get back. Good luck fishing.
That rug really tied the room together, did it not dude?
I know a lot of people have these streaks. How in the hell so you do it? I suppose if you live in Ames it's much easier but I would think in 11 years a wedding or something would have come up. I wish I was in a position to pull off making every game. I'm lucky to get to 4.
I've been lucky to mostly avoid fall weddings as my family farms, and a lot of my friends are football fans, so falls are kind of off-limits in terms of creating obligations on people.
My girlfriend at the time (now fiance) had some friends get married on the same day as an Iowa/ISU game in Iowa City and I did not go (much to her ire), and the only one of my close friends to have a fall wedding picked a day that was a road game for both Iowa and ISU.
Since I've had season tickets (2003) I've missed a handful of games due to harvest, once for a good friend's 21st birthday, and once to go visit a family member who was terminal. I don't put much stock on keeping streaks alive, its just worked out that way.
In 1984, I was hospitalized for approaching perfection.
