But I am more of shoot first ask questions later type of guy.
I am starting to get curious what the real story is. Looks like the Reg is reporting that he is only suspended and that there is an investigation.

Rumor going around the Lincoln staff is that the kid did indeed tweet some ****** stuff during one of their games, and the coaches spent three hours during the next practice working him harder than everybody else, getting in his face cussing him out, telling him he's no good and he should get out and go to another school.
Sounds to me like the kid is a whiny little *****.
All I have to say is Craig James lives on the South Side. End thread
Back in my day we werent little POS. This was from 01-05.
sounds like a typical ******* high school football coach who hates his life so he wear Oakley Razor sunglasses, screams at umps during slow pitch softball games, and blows up kids in practice that are 30 years younger.
Digging up an old thread for more discussion. What in the hell is taking them so long to make a decision on this??? The only bad things you are hearing are from this kid's family which if there was anything behind their claims you'd think others would have spoken up by now. It was nice they allowed this: GAME TIME: Lincoln Player Surprised By Coach | WHOTV.com but it's still a crappy situation. If he gets fired over this I feel sorry for any HS coaches out there as this sets a terrible precident that whenever a kid deserves punishment for doing something stupid that a coach now has to worry about mommy and daddy going to the school with lawyers if their kid has to run a little extra at practice as punishment.
Situations like this are why I have turned down many offers to coach over the years...
I just hear speculation from south siders that the administration is putting together a case to fire him altogether. That makes sense to me as I would think if they weren't, he would have his job back.
I guess the principal and him don't get along, and there is an assistant coach that is providing so fodder as well. There was a story a couple weeks ago that some money issues may come into play.
The kid should play intramurals

If having a kid read what he wrote in front of the team and having him do extra physical activity for 25 to 30 minutes with breaks in 79 degree heat is bullying and harassment, I weep for what we have become. In addition, running drills is restricted corporal punishment? I guess he would have been better off just kicking the kid off the team. These parents have sent a great message to their kid; you can do whatever you want and we will protect you from the consequences you deserve. He will get a rude awakening when they can't protect him from the consequences of breaking the law.
I'm curious how many of the other allegations are true. They seem more damning than the one with the problem kid.
****ing kids. When I was a sophomore in high school, I yelled at the officials after a game because I thought I'd gotten hosed by them. I got called for holding three times, and I know it was from pancaking the kids.
Believe me, I will never forget Coach Fred Harris. He set me straight. For the next week, after every practice, I had a half hour of extra conditioning, just him watching me do bear crawls, up-downs, and hills non-stop. I didn't complain, call the principal or the local news, or any of that ****. I took my punishment.
Kids are ****ing ******* these days.
