    Lincoln Coach Suspended

...along with 2 assistants. Anyone from the south side have any idea why? All over news today at noon.
Exaggeration is a BILLION times worse than understating.

School confirms football coach, assistants suspended | Local News - KCCI Home
Spokesman Phil Roeder said "Coach Mihalovich and two of his assistants are on suspension due to a school district investigation. Because this matter is pending, we will have nothing further to add until the investigation is complete."
Guess you'll have to wait for someone to leak the reason.

Probably because he was wearing a Dowling shirt on campus.

Hazing and bulling a student is what is going to come out. Apparently they basically treated a kid so bad, Runs, sprints, up downs that the kid ended up have a seizure, quit the team and ended up transfering to Dowling. This is just what I am hearing. I am a former southside guy and my source is a former coach.

Probably agree. However, I was not there to see how bad it got. Honestly though what was described to me sounds like at least a few practices that were done to me. Then again if they did him so bad he had a heat stroke and seizure then something might be wrong.

    Re: Lincoln Coach Suspended

Supposedly the kid skipped the game Friday night (he was not playing but was expected to attend regardless) to go to the Valley/Dowling game, tweeted all about it during the game, talked about how Lincoln players sucked, etc.

Not sure if that was before the alledged hazing/bulling by the coach or the cause of it (I had heard it was the cause of it).

Second hand from someone I know on the faculty.

You could have just said he "Went Billy Gillispie" on a player.

Nah, used to run kids till they puke and then run them some more. Now it's run them till they need an ambulance. Old timers couldn't handle it today.

Must have been those salt tablets that helped the food come out easier.

Although hearing some of the old stories about what coaches would do I wondered how anybody managed to stay on the team.

Kids then weren't pampered by over protective parents who would get upset if their kid was yelled at/not getting playing time, etc. The kids actually took the coaching and had pride in working hard and making their team better.

I heard they ran him and then forced him to turn his equipment in and leave the team.

Wow - speculation is rampant in this thread. Perhaps it would be best to discuss what happened when we really know what happened.
"There are five real good recruits in the state. We got three of them. One couldn’t get into school, and the other went to (the University of) Iowa...which is about the same thing." - Coach Johnny Orr
