coming back from Art class in 3rd grade... Remember my teacher just starting at the TV. We watched it the whole rest of the day.

8th grade. Teacher was trying to get a tape to play in the VCR and while clicking through channels to get to channel 3 saw it on channel 5 and stopped right there. Watched it for the rest of class. None of my other classes had TVs except for my history teacher's room so we watched it in there also.
My dad was stationed overseas at the time and my brother had just graduated from his Naval nuclear training.
Obviously I'm older than most of you. I was in college at DMACC in Boone. I went in for an early class and heard something on the radio about it but thought it was a radio show hoax. I got out of the class hour or so later and found out what had happened.
2nd Grade, we were in the process of moving to Ohio from Alabama and that week we were picking out our house. So the morning of there was a lot of ruckus down in the hotel lobby in front of the TV. Me being small I sneaked in the front and asked someone, and ran back to tell my father. We went back to the hotel room and watched it for the next few hours.
My teams: (as of 9/20/13) Cleveland Browns: 0-2 - .000 Cleveland Indians: 83-70 - .542 Cleveland Cavs: 24-58 - .293 Iowa State Cyclones (FB): 0-2 - .000
I was in Contemporary Lit during my sophomore year of high school. Someone from study hall ran to all the classrooms during first hour telling all the teachers to turn on the news without saying what had happened. Everyone just looked at each other with a blank, bewildered expression. Saw the plane fly into the second tower, and then everyone just said "oh ****" all at once. Principal told teachers to suspend lessons for the rest of the day. Then the rumors of planned attacks on nuclear power plants started up, and everyone in CR was worried about the plant out it Palo.

He who makes a beast of himself gets rid of the pain of being a man.
at work in NE Cedar Rapids. Collins Rd was the quietest I have ever seen. We turned a tv on in the breakroom and watched most of the day. Got married three weeks later, we went on our honeymoon to New Orleans. It was strange getting on a plane after that.
GOt up "early" to go have breakfast with my girlfriend (it was still early in the school year, we had classes for less than a week) my jr year at Wartburg. TV in the cafeteria was always on CNN and I saw that a plane had hit. After breakfast, I went back to my suite and my roommates already had the TV on and I got back into the room just in time to see the second plane hit. Only had one class that day (Western Civ) and all we did was watch coverage and talk about it the whole time. Had football practice that afternoon and there were rumors just a few short hours after that there would probably be a draft so the whole practice was pretty somber as a bunch of us had that on our minds as well.
Exaggeration is a BILLION times worse than understating.
