    I always assumed the first thing that a third party would print in 3d would be a blow-up doll. Color me surprised.

    I read this article about that story this morning: DIY gun project misfires as 3D printer is seized - tech - 02 October 2012 - New Scientist

    The New Scientist article says there's an issue with the temperature tolerances of the metal used in the 3D printing. I could see a lot of people hurting themselves initially if parts are quite up-to-snuff with mass-produced guns.

    I could see this story gaining some steam in the next few months/years as a national story.
