Hey everyone I was just finishing up my resume and figured I'd see what everyone had for advice as to what to include/not include. I did talk to my adviser and he gave me a general idea. I'm a senior at ISU in Ag Biochem and have 3 years of relevant work experience on campus. I graduate in December. So far I have this:
Keep it to one page
Jobs/experience not relevant to career is not necessary (ie grocery store worker, stuff like that)
High school stuff isn't necessary
That's just some of the stuff I've been told. I was unsure if I should list references available by request or to just put my references. Also I was unsure of the amount of references. I have 3 or 4 good ones.
I'm also going to the career fair Tuesday. I'm not really sure what to expect, but I plan on just talking to some companies and handing out some resumes. Researching ones I am interested in beforehand. That kind of stuff.
Any advice is appreciated!

Your 4 bullet points are great.
Keep your resume very succinct and organized. Don't want to be rambling on with a bunch of nonsense in a messy manner.
For my references I had them on a separate, unattached page just in case they wanted them at that time. I listed 3 personal and 3 professional references.
I generally have references available upon request. Might want to have them on a separate sheet of paper for the career fair in case they ask for them. Good luck finding work. Ag Biochem is a good place to be in.
Nice the separate sheet sounds like a good idea, it would save a good amount of space. I have listed lab protocols I am experienced with and also lab machinery I am familiar with. My adviser said he might think of listing academic scholarships in one section, but I only have 3 or 4 and they are just college entry ones. I'm not sure it is worth an entire section.
I tried to start looking for stuff this summer, but was basically told it was too early I would have better luck later. Basically they said if a position was open they would want someone to fill it sooner rather than later.
