Engagement Ring Advice
Hey everyone. I have a different account on here but I am not wating anyone to know who I am. I am thinking of asking the old lady to marry me. Just wondering what anyone's advice on rings is. Not sure if I want to buy one or ask her then take her with me to buy one. I am sure there are postives to both.
Other thing, best place in Iowa to get a ring.
Oh also, don't do it guys, don't worry you are not the first to tell me not too.

Two places I've used for different purposes and would recommend to others: Anglo Diamonds (Clive) Ames Silversmithing (Ames)

I had her pick it out and that definitely worked out well for me.

Re: Engagement Ring Advice
I took my fiance with me to Iowa Diamond in WDM. Have had quite a few friends do the same, and all of us are very happy with how it turned out. I would highly recommend looking into them.

If she is an old lady, let her pick it out....
Looking forward to CFH magic for the next bball season, Georges style. -
Re: Engagement Ring Advice
azepp's advice: Don't ask for any kind of relationship advice on CF. This includes engagement ring advice.

Re: Engagement Ring Advice
Got mine at Jared. (Yeah, I hate there commercials too, but gave me best service, went to about 6-8 different places first).
I wanted to do the surprise thing, and I had a good idea of what she liked, so I did it on my own. Custom Design. Worked perfectly.

Re: Engagement Ring Advice
Take her to a store with you, let her look at various settings and stone cuts and get an idea what she likes (also get a ring sizing!) then make a decision on your own later what you think she'll like. That way at least what the ring looks like and when you pop the question are still a surprise. I bought mine at Joseph's in Des Moines, very satisfied with my experience with them.

I ended up at Joseph's in WDM (and I'd go back in a heartbeat). I really liked how laid back the salespeople are there...the first thing my guy said to me was "I don't work on commission, so feel free to come in every day for a month until you feel its the right time/deal." I checked out Anglo and they did the used car pitch "this deal is only good until you walk out of the door". Riiiiight...
Check around, check prices, go somewhere where you feel comfortable is my advice.

Re: Engagement Ring Advice
Go with a custom from Anglo.

I bought my fiance's at Iowa Diamond. I didn't really feel pressured at all, to be honest.

Re: Engagement Ring Advice
First of all, DONT...
If you still want to, stalk her Pinterest page. If she is like 99.9% of unmarried women she probably has a wedding board with what she wants for a ring...
