Cheap Cowboy Boots - Any suggestions of where to find?
Hey there and thanks for any help...So I we have a Cowboy's and Indians bus for Halloween and need to find some Cowboy boots...cheap. If anyone knows a good place to order them from or preferably find around Des Moines that would be great. They can be cheap real leather or even synthetic...I just need something to look the part so quality is not a concern.
Thanks in advance!
And yes I know this post is ripe for the cheap high quality jersey references ;)

If you are in Ames, that "Found Goods" store in the old Varsity Theater in campus town had several pairs of assorted cowboy boots the last time I was in there. That place is great in general for costume themed attire.

Depending on your morals, this is what I did last year.
Go to Thiesen's, they have boots for around $80-$100, use them on Halloween.
Return to store on Monday.

I'm not sure what condition these boots will be in after the weekend. So buy and return may not be the best lol.

Kohl's and Payless shoes will take anything back. If you got balls like my wife (who uses stuff and returns), those are places to go.

This is where the morals come into play, lol. "Mine" were pretty scuffed up after last Halloween. Wrap them back up in the clear plastic they came in, walk in and pick out a shy looking younger chick as a cashier, flirt mildly during your transaction, and all she'll do is glance inside the box to make sure they're inside.
The above tactic works not only for cowboy boots, but I have a buddy who returned to Walmart 2 dead fish and later, 3 pairs of used undewear.

Borrow boots them from the neighbors.
Yard sales have some good bargains.
