IMO, by far the best resource out there. You can get free advice on their forums and there's also an extensive wiki. I know some people like to say you shouldn't trust anonymous people on the internet. And everything should be taken with a grain of salt. But if you search or post yourself, you can get tons of information. They encourage people to be able to invest for themselves but if you want to work with a financial adviser they'll arm you with all the important questions you should be asking to not get ripped off. And they're happy to critique any financial plan.
That is fine. I've made plenty of uninformed statements many a times in my life too. As for insensitive comments, I'd be more than willing to duke it out again with Cycl1 over why Zoeys is NOT the best pizza place in the Cedar Rapids area. I've still got plenty of of insensitive comments left for him on that one!!! Tomasos reigns!!
you didnt take long to prove your first statement.

I am a fan of Laurence Kotlikoff and have read his books and bought his life planning economic software which analyzes all of your factors including income, family, insurance, life events, etc. It is good stuff but pretty heavy duty unless you are really into economics and finance.
