Gold Rush Season 3

Anybody watching the season 3 premiere tonight?
I actually love this show. It's like a train wreck. I can't wake my eyes off it, even though it's a disaster of a crew. Although, they actually found enough gold last season to turn a profit so they are improving just a tad.

From the sneak peek episode a month or two ago, they were looking at a claim someplace in South America to do some Jungle Mining. Should be pretty interesting. Also, from the previews they say somebody hits the mother load and finally strikes it big. They don't say which crew it is, though. In an interview, Todd did say this is the best season they've had. Hopefully, its not Fred's crew.

I want todd hoffmans crew to hit big. He deserves it and his crew deserves it. They took a chance. I want it to pay off.

I've been catching some episodes from last season on tv and I like it so I'll tune in tonight.

The fact that Chumlee from Pawn Stars drives a Maserati tells you how much these guys are getting paid and Chumlee is getting chump change compared to Todd on Gold Rush and Rick ($1M/year) on Pawn Stars. It's about 80% scripted. and getting worse. I still watch some, it's like pro wrestling, you know it's fake but can still be entertaining

Fred is such an ***. Parker took time out of his day and used his fuel to help dig out Fred and get his equipment started. And then when Parker asks for a little help, Fred just turns him down with that stupid grin on his face. I am not a fan of Fred at all. I like everybody else and really hope they succeed.

Gotta root for Parker, family business and you can tell he trys hard. Little immature at times but that happens when you're only 17.

The Hoffmans are the comedy. If they hit it big its as much because they got lucky as any sort of competency on their part.

It is painful for people with engineering degrees that work with off highway heavy equipment to watch GR. However, my wife loves it and dave is correct about the train wreck aspect.

show's getting harder to watch IMO. it's almost as if the scripting is worse and the "problems" that arise are more and more lame. same sequence over and over again with every episode.
