New Star Wars Trilogy
Disney to make new 'Star Wars' films after buying Lucasfilm for $4.05 billion - MSN Movies News
Be very interesting how these are developed..........kind of excited, but hoping they don't screw it up and make more Jar Jar Binks.

Re: New Star Wars Trilogy
I saw an interview with George Lucas and his new Lucasfilms Chair, talking about this. Super excited to hear that there is a definitive timeline to get me some more star wars!
Also, how long before Disney runs the world? Seriously, they are buying everything.

Watched Ep. 2 the other night on TV because apparently I have no life, but thinking about it now, there is not really any way to screw it up more than those. Between the annoying character choices, terrible acting of Anakin, and killing off of some awesome characters in 1-3 I am more just excited for the new story lines and hope the acting and the characters don't ruin it. Also a Natalie Portman type in there won't hurt either.

How do I say this without ******* a lot of people off.........
Star Wars is over rated...... it just doesn't hold up. I never understood the fascination with these films. It's almost ironic since I'm a fan of most things science fiction but I would put it at 75% suck, 25% cool rating.
The first movie came out a year before my birth but I never really liked them when I was a kid. I liked GI JOE and HE-Man more and loved computer games and Intelevision and Atari.

Re: New Star Wars Trilogy
I wish they would have made a Darth Vader movie that came b/w episode 3 and 4. The period where he's hunting Jedi could have made a great movie. I could care less what Luke Skywalker does after Vader and the emporer are dead.
Besides the goofy sideshow characters, Lucas messed those movies up exclusively by casting terrible actors in the roles of Anakin and Luke Skywalker. Well episode 1 was a total disaster but the rest would have been much better.

Hope the franchise improves under their ownership. I think each new film has gotten better special effects, but the level of acting has gotten worse as well.
Do like the Clone Wars on the cartoon network. Some interesting material. Suppose that's going to go away now since Disney owns the franchise?

Re: New Star Wars Trilogy
Lucas must of done something right, seeing how we are still criticizing his movies almost 40 years later.
“They're very, very hard to guard,” Notre Dame head coach Mike Brey said. “They're really good. And with Niang in the middle kind of wheeling and all those guys spreading you out, they're kind of a nightmare matchup. And they're men. They're really men.” -

I was completely unconvinced.

Well episode 1 was a total disaster but the rest would have been much better. It seems like most people think Episode I was the worst, but for me Episode II is by far my least favorite. Hayden Christensen was absolutely awful and most of the scenes with Padme and Anakin are some of the worst things I've ever seen on film. Such terrible, terrible writing. That's why I really hope George has nothing to do with the writing or directing of the new trilogy.

I don't disagree, but after watching Episode I I had very little expectations left for Episode II so I couldn't be let down very far.
