I too am sporting a wicked Octobeard, and plan on keeping it through the month. The best part is that we've been interviewing engineering candidates and I have a big project closing next week, so I've met 15-20 new people in the last few weeks that only know me with a beard. Pretty awesome.
Re: Movember Mustache Roll Call
I'm also rocking the octobeard, CPR is my inspiration on this. :)

Here's what Movember's wiki says:
Quote:
Since 2004, the Movember Foundationcharity has run Movember events to raise awareness and funds for men's health issues, such as prostate cancer anddepression, in Australia and New Zealand. In 2007, events were launched in Ireland, Canada, Czech Republic, Denmark, Spain, the United Kingdom, Israel, South Africa, Taiwan and the United States.[4][5]It has spread from Australia to South Africa, Europe and North America.[6][7] As of 2011 Canadians were the largest contributors to the Movember charities of any nation.[8][9] In 2010, Movember merged with the testicular cancer event Tacheback.[10] In 2012 the Global Journal listed Movember as one of the top 100 NGOs (non government organization) in the world. [11]
I never heard of it until 2010, and did No Shave November prior to that.
Re: Movember Mustache Roll Call
Day 6 of trying to grow a stache... I feel like I should be driving a windowless van.
Re: Movember Mustache Roll Call
My wife told me if I observed no shave November so was she, I said deal. I just hope she caves.
Re: Movember Mustache Roll Call
I started mine..but it only lasted 5 days (hunting trip). Facial hair is not well received in the office.
Re: Movember Mustache Roll Call
The last time I shaved was Oct. 30th and you can't hardly tell I haven't shaved yet. I think I have some Native American (or is it American Indian?) blood in me.

Re: Movember Mustache Roll Call
I started November with a "stubble beard" so I didn't follow the "start clean shaven" rule. However I think my Mo is coming along nicely:

Anybody else want to show their Mo yet?

Year 5 for this guy. I'll try to post a pic when I get back home. Nothing great so far.
Re: Movember Mustache Roll Call
I need to get a picture and update my Mo page. I'm going trucker 'stache, like CPR was rocking earlier this year.
Re: Movember Mustache Roll Call
No no shave last year and am trying the goatee this year. I'm 34 and haven't shaved my the goatee since Oct. 31. I'm just past a 5 o'clock shadow now.
Re: Movember Mustache Roll Call
Movember is not about growing facial hair, no gotees, no sideburns. It is a MO only.
That being said, I am ready to shave, I can't do it anymore. I have to take a business trip tomorrow, and I look worse than usual.
Re: Movember Mustache Roll Call
i'm doing no shave november. I don't have the gusto to just be rocking a stache.
Re: Movember Mustache Roll Call
I've never grown a beard. A lot of gray is showing up. 12 days in

Re: Movember Mustache Roll Call
Yea... I can grow a mean neck beard. I'm pretty much stache'less though... It grows slow, is sparse, and is of the oriental variety for some reason. Everyone else in my family can grow crazy staches, so I feel like I'm adopted.
