SiriusXM raises prices again
Just got my renewal packet in the mail and my subscription price is going up again. I already thought their service was over-priced. There was very little I listened to that I could not get via terrestrial radio or podcast for free.
IMO, their prices should be going down, not up, because with very few exceptions they simply don't add much. I'm leaning toward not renewing and I have doubts about SiriusXM being around in a few years.

Mine skyrocketed up also. Was $154 last year, this year going to be over $200. My renewal is next Thursday.

My next car is going to have bluetooth that can play Pandora or something similar. My wife's RDX has this and there is no need for XM.

Re: SiriusXM raises prices again
settle down cheapskates, its still less than 20 bucks a month for commercial free satellite radio.
The one constant through all the years, Ray, has been baseball. America has rolled by like an army of steamrollers. It has been erased like a blackboard, rebuilt and erased again. But baseball has marked the time. This field, this game: it's a part of our past, Ray. It reminds of us of all that once was good and it could be again. Oh... people will come Ray. People will most definitely come. -

IMO, $20 a month is a lot for something you use maybe an hour a day, and only a small percentage of that hour is stuff you couldn't get elsewhere for free. If I had a job where I spent a lot of time in my car I'd probably go for it but as it is now I don't see it as a good value anymore.

Re: SiriusXM raises prices again
SiriusXM is a huge rip-off. If you don't want to pay full-price (no reason to), just cancel your subscription and they will start calling you non-step begging for a renewal. They will start offering you lower and lower prices. I think I paid $26 bucks or something for the past 3 months. Just make sure that when your subscription period is over that you cancel or call them because they will try to auto-renew you at full price. It's a scam. Beware.

PS - Has anyone also noticed that their website sucks? I can honestly say I've not gone to their site ONCE and not gotten the message,"Bummer...we're having technical difficulties. Try again later." Or I'm in the middle of reviewing my account and it suddenly signs me out.

Thanks for reminding me to cancel so i can get a new deal again. Love siriusxm but their price increases are annoying.

Re: SiriusXM raises prices again
I have been a big time XM fan since the beginning, this is my 3rd card with XM. However, this will be my last renewal. I have slacker on my iphone, and I can cache all the stations I want for $3 a month. Goodbye SiriusXM.

Re: SiriusXM raises prices again
My renewal on my wifes car came up not that long ago. Its a new car and the 6 months free was up. She never listened to it so I just let it expire. they sent a letter saying another six months free, so I called. I said I didnt need it in that vehicle so they applied it to my other car and gave me six months more free on my sportster so i got a year for free. I think it really matters who there customer service rep is that you talk to. Nice lady and could speak english. That doesnt always happen.

I call them up on the phone and they say to call back in 2 hours because their system is suddenly down (after they were fully able to give me my renewal date)... but they are unable to cancel the auto-renew. Gotta put in a reminder somewhere to cancel before my dec 20 renewal date.

Last year I actually got a whole year for about $33. This year they offered some decent deals, but no where near that good. I cancelled.

Re: SiriusXM raises prices again
Just added 5 months of XM plus for about $6/month after my trial ran out. You have to just cancel and play the game, they will come crawling back with a lower offer.

Re: SiriusXM raises prices again
IMHO if you bought the satellite radio, you should get the stations included. Don't care if there are commercials.

Re: SiriusXM raises prices again
I think they are slowly wanting to lose subscribers to their satellite service and move everyone to their internet radio so they can drop satellite and save money.
I bought a lifetime subscription 7 years ago for $500. For me it has been money well spent.
