*** Super Troopers mafia signup / idea thread ***

how do you get into this? I think it would be fun to start helping out with a youth basketball program.

Ok with Tigger in we are at 39. I'm going to cap it at this as with 39 because if it get's any bigger I doubt we can get done before Thanksgiving. Almost got the write-up done. This game will probably set a record for roles that get a kill but it is what it is.

I started coaching 9th and JV basketball when I was at ISU and then eventually got a varsity job after college...you need to get your Iowa coaching certification to coach at the HS or MS levels. You shouldn't need that if you just wanted to help out for a youth league. Feel free to PM me if you want more info on how to get certified...

We should play a game sometime where everyone gets a nightly instakill. Just for ***** and giggles. Instead of "mafia" we could just call it "war".

I'm not wanting to do all that you do, just help out a bit with the youth. No real coaching dreams, just think it would be fun. If your not a dad of a kid on the team, etc... how do you get involved? Looking for zero pay.

Don't you have to teach at the school to HS or MS coach? Just curious what your ultimate goal is if you're heading down that road as a profession (can pm if should be taken offline).

Nope, I have a friend from HS who coaches varsity track and CC. He lives in the comminunity but he doesn't teach.

Edit: More power to you for wanting to get involved. I have reffed some youth league and I think they are usually pretty terrible.

No, most districts prefer to have teachers as coaches (just because they're more likely to stick around long term), but there is nothing saying you have to be a teacher (I am now). You could contact the local YMCA or an area league for Omaha. Usually with any brochure they have for a league signup there will be a contact person and they are always looking for coaches.
