Re: Most overrated movies?
Twilight is such a joke as to almost not merit inclusion.
I actually really like the Harry Potter movies. The early ones weren't very good, they didn't have the budgets of the later films, but I thought really they got progressively better as the series went on.

I'd be really curious to find out what movies you actually like.

The movies really grew with their cast/audience I think, the first ones were clearly kids movies with stories about ditching class and making friends, not much heavy stuff going on. And while I like them all the later ones were really excellent, lots of action, great stories.

I didn't care for Juno, either.
Most of those old Jimmy Stewart movies suck, IMO.
I didn't see what was so great about Taxi Driver. And even though I really enjoy them, the formula for Goodfellas and Casino is pretty lame...take A-list Italian-American actors, add a narrator, play Rolling Stones songs at every possible juncture, and boom.
I just saw The Master and didn't think much of it. A lot like There Will Be Blood, it had some amazing acting performances, but at the end I was left asking "okay, what was the point of all that?" I'm not sure how I feel about that director.
Aww c'mon, Ellen Page is such a babe.
I honestly never get tired of Inception, that man Christopher Nolan is a genius.

i disagree with a lot of people in this thread

This. Everytime I read a thread like this all I learn from it is that a lot of people have really bad taste.
Re: Most overrated movies?
Another vote for all of the Star Wars movies.
Pretty much anything Kevin Smith put out after Clerks got progressively worse. Mallrats had some good moments, Chasing Amy had some good dialogue... but overall they were just bad movies after that. I did enjoy most of Zack & Miri.
I refuse to watch Avatar. It was so overhyped to me, everyone kept telling me that it was the best thing ever, and it just looks sort of dumb.

I guess I don't find bitchy preggars Ellen Page too attractive. I agree with you on Inception though.

Maybe their tastes weren't developed properly. Remember there are some kids that grow up hawkeye fans and don't know any better.

Aw, see, I liked the earlier ones better, even though I don't love Christopher Colombus (or however you spell it) as a director. I thought they were truer to the books.

It's like I don't even know you. Which I don't, but still.
Re: Most overrated movies?
Overrated? Maybe that Katy Perry movie? All that hype and then nothing. I was expecting an hour and a half of this http://gunshyassassin.com/wp-content...ry_snl_gif.gif
Disappointment abound.

Avatar was kind of cool to see in the theater, before 3D took off as an annoying cash grab. I have no strong desire to watch the movie ever again though. It's just kind of there.

So you haven't seen it? Bit presumptuous to say it is overrated then right?
Saying this, I agree with you that it is overrated. Pretty good, but I felt like Fern Gully, Pocahontas and Dances With Wolves were involved in a three way head on collision.
Re: Most overrated movies?
judging by this thread I just wanna ask if anyone likes any movie ever made?
