I've purchased several 150K cars for kids, first thing is pay the money for a Car Fax, called dealerships that did work on it and purchased. Always sold cars with for good price unless kids wrecked them whic is for another thread. On foreign cars (Audi & VW) with just over 100 or 200K you want to make sure timing chain replaced as this is required every 100K and cost $1,200 +/-. Bought a VW Jetta Diesel with 225K on it, has 325K on it and runs great. Don't be scared in buying one, just do your homework.
Oh, for the answer to the original thread, yes if you know car and buy it reasonably and take care of it........buy it
