I slept in my car until 10:30 pm after the Kstate game. Luckily Casey's was open for some pizza on my way home.

I would echo what an earlier poster said; audio books and something like sunflower seeds to occupy you are a good idea. Other things you can do: roll down the window - a little fresh air and wind noise can wake you up temporarily; turn down the temperature - being just a little chilly can keep you from getting too comfortable; sing along to the radio - I'm not a good singer but while driving alone you keep your mind engaged and your body just a little more active which causes your body to not go into sleep mode; keep drinking - caffeinated drinks help, but even drinking a sip of cold water ever couple of minutes can help (it also is difficult to fall asleep at the wheel when your bladder fills up :-) ).

Re: do you drive drunk/buzzed?
Back in High School, I did quite a lot, often pretty hammered. It was cool back then to booze cruise (2007)
Wrecked my car in the ditch on the 4th of July my senior year but didn't get caught and ever since then I don't get drunk and drive. A lot smarter now

I have been known to be somewhat intoxicated on my bike the last week in July as well...
Still very dangerous to not only you, but to others. If you pull out into traffic and cause a car to swerve, the car could of course run into a pole or into oncoming traffic. Not nearly as simple as "I'm the only one that could be hurt."

I'm not above doing stupid stuff, but if I'm some how riding my push mower, I'm probably drunk.

I *think* that I might have been a buzzed driver one time. Co-workers took me out for my 21st after work. It was the first time I'd ever had more than one drink and immediately drove so I'm not sure if I was actually buzzed or just crazy paranoid that I was. I'd had two drinks in about an hour....but it was probably another hour or so before I drove. Never done it again
I would agree that driving tired is just as bad if not worse than driving buzzed. When the husband and I were LDR (4-8 hours apart depending what year/summer it was), I had to start forcing myself to stop at gas stations and get some candy/drink something along the way because I knew I was not being smart by continuing to drive when I couldn't keep my eyes open. 20 through Iowa is boring as hell.

Re: do you drive drunk/buzzed?
My brother once got a cop to drive his car out of a tow zone because he had been drinking. Probably the most responsible thing he's ever done in regards to drinking. As for me no car so no drunk driving here.

i don't suppose they would help with drunk driving though.
I have found the sunflower seeds works for me to when I am tired.
