Band tshirt at concert vs. sports jersey at game?
We've all heard it's of the highest-crime to wear a bands' shirt to their concert. Fine. When I played in a band we either all dressed the same and one time for fun wore matching band tshirts. We actually sold more tshirts at that show as a percentage of attendance than any others (hooray Lydia Chan's math class!)
But why do we all go out and cover ourselves from head to tow with ISU apparel at games where it's obvious we are fans? Why did this distinction happen and what's your thought? Who decided it's okay for one but not the other!

It's so important it's rule #1 AND rule # 19.
Still doesn't explain the concert/game attire divide.

Is this just an excuse to say you played in a band? Sorry, there are no women on the internet.

No, just a statistical observation. The idea came to when when I was at a concert this weekend and saw a guy get yelled at by a bartender for wearing the band's tshirt. Then the next day I was looking at ISU sweatshirts and realized I was doing the same thing but with a different venue.

Probably just mad that he's a bartender, it's understandable.

Because there's no opposing band? In sports, most people are choosing to root for one team or the other.

This. In sports you are choosing a side and thus you need to show support for your team. Bands are bands, they aren't "versing" another band at that concert.

Re: Band tshirt at concert vs. sports jersey at game?
Does the no band tshirt apply to a battle of the bands concert? Or just a regular concert with one main headliner?
Re: Band tshirt at concert vs. sports jersey at game?
What if the band t-shirt is handmade by my mom?

I'm just jelly you were in a band. Pretty lame of the bartender.
