    HDTV & Direct TV Question

    I am getting a 55" HDTV (Sanyo LCD) 1080pi / 120Hz. When I hook it up to my non-HD Direct TV receiver, will my picture be acceptable? / horrible? I am planning on getting the HD receiver, but I want to know whether I should wait to hook the new TV up until that time. Any suggestions would be helpful!
    Utah Utes, Illinois Illini. The University of Pennsylvania thought about following this pattern by calling themselves the Pennsylvania Pencils. However, they were afraid their students would start chanting "We're No. 2"

    And then when you get your HD hooked up, you will be amazed, and question how you ever thought the other picture was acceptable.

    i was one of those who thought hd was no big deal. until i got it. now if it aint hd it might as well be black and white. or radio.

    Anything coming thru the non-HD box will look like crap...real crap. Two things to try and get you by until you get a new Directv box.

    1. Over the air antennae. Get one and at least be able to watch local channels in HD.
    2. Hook up a blue ray or at least a DVD player so you can enjoy a movie in higher resolution.
