Notre Dame vs SEC for National Championship

Yawn. I'll watch for the pregame stuff. For the record I'm Catholic, went to catholic school, and my grandma was born in Ireland and I dont like ND. Although i like them more than Miami or Baylor.

BTW I wasn't dissing on catholics or Irish people, like'em both. I just don't like how ND traditionally is over rated because of what they did 50+ years ago. The brand exceeds the talent. If it's Bama vs. ND I don't give ND a chance in hell to win. They both played Michigan and Bama destroyed them while ND only won by 7.

Of the three possible teams, I'd probably like Georgia to win out. I expect Alabama to win again. I don't think ND will come close if it comes down to ND-Ala.

As for the game, it'll probably be on at the house. Can't honestly say I won't watch parts of it. Not sure how much attention will be paid though, of it if will be "tv in the background while doing more important things, oh look Alabama scored again."

At the beginning of the season teams like Notre Dame, Michigan and USC are usually the most overrated.

By the end of the season teams like Florida State, NIU and Kent State with easy schedules (this year's clearest examples) are usually the teams that are overrated. That ticks me off much more. ND usually at least has a top 30 schedule most seasons.

I didn't watch last year, since it was SEC vs. SEC, and I won't watch this year, since it will be SEC vs. ND. I don't watch ND games. I don't watch SEC games. I don't watch games with Brent Musberger and Kirk Herbstreit broadcasting. Looks like four strikes and they're out. I'll be recording something on Encore Westerns to replay on the set.

How can anyone say Notre Dame was overrated? They were not rated at all to start the year. When Oregon and K-State were still undefeated, they were rated higher than ND even though most of the computers rated Notre Dame higher. the people polls had a bias against Notre Dame which the computers did not. If anything, this season shows what garbage the people polls are and how they rely on their preseason ratings, which they really draw out of thin air in college with so much player turnover between seasons.

I wish ND would demolish the SEC, but as a defensive oriented team they don't usually blow anyone out. When K-State and Oregon were still undefeated, those three teams were joined in the top ten by seven SEC teams. Does anyone really believe that the SEC has 7 of the best ten teams in the country? That's were the bias is at with the polls and ND needs to win to start chipping away at that garbage.

I'll be cheering for Notre Dame. I used to hate Notre Dame growing up because they were overrated, their fans thought they should be in the championship every year, and I hated that plenty of people assumed that since I was Catholic I rooted for Notre Dame. Now a really good friend goes and plays in the band, and another friend's family are really big Notre Dame fans so I cheer for them. I just assume the last few years have taught them humility and I don't do anything that could contradict that to make it easier on myself.

This game doesn't interest me at all, but I'm with those who say ND deservers their shot. They did what they had to do and it couldn't have come at a better time for them, during all this conference realignment stuff. Proves to them that they don't need a conference and won't in the near future.

More than ND, I get upset at the SEC auto-bid every year to the NC game. Every other school has to go un-defeated, if not, it ends up an all SEC championship game and that, imo is ********!. The SEC is not that much better that all of their 1 loss teams get listed in the top 4.

Last season was a joke. If a team cannot win it's division within a larger league it has no business playing for an overall title. For that reason I'll be going for ND if they play Alabama. While it may not be fair to this year's Alabama team - I guess I want payback :)

In all fairness, ND hasn't won nor will they win their division this year.
