That moment when you wake yourself up out of a hazy, half-assed, nearly there sleep with a girly 90’s pop song that you haven’t heard or remembered in over 18 years stuck in your head and then drag your stupid *** out of bed at 6 am just to look this song up on youtube with the three scraps of probably wrong lyrics that you remember and try to constantly repeat in your head so you don’t forget it.

Then slowly feel it slip away, moment after moment, as the sleep fades and you lose parts as you see things in the search results that make you think of other songs, the memory slowly degrading with each piece of something else and with each waking moment. Losing piece by piece the hook, then the chorus, then the melody, until you can’t even hum the lyrics that were so clear when they woke you up anymore as that last image of the music video you could’ve sworn you saw as a kid fades from your mind, taunting you.

Only for you to realize that it was probably so strong and clear at first and was only remembered because it was a figment of your dream and you have now completely lost it because you woke yourself up at 6 am to look up a song title that you forget as soon as you try to remember it.

You did? Everythread in the history of CF that has been created around music or a TV show turns into this. It's the "high-brow" crowd who relentlessly tells the whole board how bat whatever show is and that they should be watching documentaries or deep drama's like Breaking Bad or Walking Dead. Same thing happens in music threads. High brow tells the sheep they are idiots for liking something played on the radio and not something they have never even heard of. FTR- I watch zero sitcoms. Pretty much all I watch are shows like Breaking Bad, Walking Dead, Dexter, etc and by the way, Prison Break is the most underrated show of all time.

...It may just be people who validly can't stand certain shows/music. For example, I know that I've got some pretty solid opinions that aren't popular in the mainstream about music, movies, TV... but I'm not really concerned what others think.

In regards to Big Bang Theory being an intelligent comedy, really? The show has a laugh track to let the audience know when the jokes occurred. That is the definition of unintelligent programming.

Now if you'll excuse me I'm going to go rewatch all 5 seasons of The Wire and be extremely uppity about it when television shows comes up in casual conversation. Maybe pepper in The Shield while I'm at it.

In regards to Big Bang Theory being an intelligent comedy, really? The show has a laugh track to let the audience know when the jokes occurred. That is the definition of unintelligent programming.

Now if you'll excuse me I'm going to go rewatch all 5 seasons of The Wire and be extremely uppity about it when television shows comes up in casual conversation. Maybe pepper in The Shield while I'm at it.

you forgot the part where the holier than thou type invariably descends on the thread and calls the high brows out for calling the sheep idiots, and that everyone is entitled to their opinion. Then another holier than thou type comes in and calls out the first one for calling out the high brows. And another and another. It's all so very meta, yet we all play our roles.
