Re: The Oscars - Best Picture
I'll go with Dark Knight rises, as it is the only movie I have seen this year. Even though I thought the Dark Knight was better (which was the last movie I went to before Dark Knight Rises)

Other than the 10 minutes of John Goodman, what was good about Flight? Maybe my friends just built it up too much, but that movie was highly disappointing to me, and I had to fight the urge to walk out halfway through it.

As of right now, which film do you think has the best chance to win, and if you have a top 5, what are they?
I liked Lincoln a lot, but I was incredibly impressed by Argo. The Master was "ok". I want to see Beasts of the Southern Wild, Silver Linings Playbook, Zero Dark thirty, Killing Them Softly.
As of right now though, my frontrunner is Argo. One of the best movies I have seen all year.
Lincoln will win. Many are predicting Les Miserables and Argo to threaten to win, but Lincoln takes it, and it should.
I loved Argo too but not my favorite of the year.
Re: The Oscars - Best Picture
I will also add the best movies of the year, in no order, for me are:
Lincoln
Silver Linings Playbook
Beasts of the Southern Wild
Perks of Being a Wallflower
Argo
Can't wait to see Django Unchained and Zero Dark Thirty
Didn't like: Flight, Moonrise Kingdom
Re: The Oscars - Best Picture
What is so great about Silver Linings Playbook besides Jennifer Lawrence's friends? I really don't like her as an actress and Bradley Cooper doesn't do it for me either.

And before someone says it sucked compared to the book, just keep it to yourself. I enjoyed the movie.

I saw it. Thought it was ok.
Re: The Oscars - Best Picture
I'm really looking forward to Anna Karenina. Keira Knightly is pretty solid in period pieces.
Re: The Oscars - Best Picture
I don't like to rate movies. Therefore I never watch the Oscars. I think rating music is especially ignorant and the Grammys are the greatest sham that ever existed. The second is American Idol. Sports were made to have winners and losers. Music, art, and literature was never meant to have winners and losers, best sellers maybe. The most popular generally stays off my shopping lists. I hope this doesn't make anyone think.

ooooooo I keep forgetting about this one. I want to see that one, Les Mis, and Lincoln yet.
Re: The Oscars - Best Picture
Still plenty of Oscar bait yet to be released:
Hyde Park On Hudson
Zero Dark Thirty
Les Miserables
