I've had a couple infestations over the past 5years. I tried several things on my own,but could never get the job fully done myself.
Get a pro - they have access to products the general consumer doesn't.
FYI - my most effective home remedy was using my shop vac. I filled the bottom with some water & a little gas, then fastened the hose right next to the entrance. The could still get in/out, but couldn't escape the suction. I let the vac run for over a day straight and killed thousands of em. The problem is that it doesn't kill the queen, so she just keeps making more and eventually they came back.
Speaking from experience, just bite the bullet & get an exterminator.

An inch of water with a thin layer of gas on top is amazingly effective in killing them.

Most people I know refer to most wasps as "yellow jackets." Unless it's all black, in which case it gets called a hornet. They all look somewhat similiar, especially during a frantic run into the house. Unlike yellow jackets and hornets, wasps normally have a relatively small number in each colony. Yellow jackets are primarily scavengers, unlike the other 2 which are almost entirely predacious.Quote:
