Re: More speed cameras coming your way!
Just don't pay them, they don't do anything to you. No problems with taxes, renewing plates or DL. It's all a joke. If everyone would shred them they would go away.

Edit: I don't know if it is still that way or they have changed it to make it easier to protest. The article came out a little after the cameras came out. Whatever it takes to make it unworkable and expensive for the county, I would do, including buying everything possible in another county, or online. Leaders represent the wishes of those who elected them. If Polk County businesses wish for this kind of crap, they can do without my business.

I heard if you go fast enough the cameras can't see you.

Oh, and for the record, I will no longer go anywhere near Windor Heights and I am sure I am not the only one. If you own a business in Windsor Heights, you are getting screwed here.

Re: More speed cameras coming your way!
Its a joke that Windsor Heights wants these up on 235. Not only do they barely have any mileage on 235, but the DOT has told them it wont make anything safer there. In fact, id think adding a mobile camera will just add clutter to the area which will be more dangerous rather than less. And i dont really see a speed danger in that area anyways. The main problem is too many ramps there, but i don't see WH pushing to remove one.
WH is quite possibly the worst suburb in the city in regards to speed limit enforcement. They set the limits too low on university so that is unusable, and now they want to jam up another area in the city.
Its too bad gronstal decided to unilaterally block the ban, despite bipartisan support for banning these cash grabs.

Re: More speed cameras coming your way!
They will not issue tickets for 1mph over. That is just the media trying to stir up emotions so they can make more money.

The cameras are planned to move around along Polk’s rural highways, especially surrounding the rural high schools, the sheriff said.
