In 3 months and 2 days I won't be a "teenager" any more

Shaving facial hair more often is annoying...

    Not growing vertically any more...

Muscles are finally catching up to my growing bones...

Am I making you guys feel ancient yet?

The fact that I can no longer escape the internet no matter where I go. People can contact you and bother you at any place any time. And if you do go off the grid you are looked at as an A-Hole. Miss the days of being 11 when you could hop on your bike and be gone all day just to show up at 7 and have food waiting on the table and Mom had no idea what you did for the previous 8 hours.

Sports injuries reappear in later age. If hair loss is the problem, that is minor compared to bad joints, bad backs, and bad circulatory system,. Just be glad it is only hair.
Looking forward to CFH magic for the next bball season, Georges style.

What if she doesn't want them, or the accompanying scars someday?
I put up a stand that my daughters couldn't get their ears pierced until they were 15, and any double piercings would wait until they were 18. I've got one left at 16 years old; the other two declined the double pierce--maybe Dad does know something.

My nieces have gotten their ears pierced at age 1.

Damn, reading this thread is like looking into a mirror. For me, it was also like a switch flipped sometime during my 27th year. Suddenly, waking up early was the most difficult thing in the world. If I get sore after a long run, I stay sore for a lot longer. The receding hairline kicked it into over-drive, as did the gray hairs. If I eat a big greasy burger now, it feels like I have a rock in my stomach for a day and I'll probably gain 5 pounds from it. Being sedentary for 9 hours a day makes me tired; I'm exhausted by the time I get home from work.

One thing that hasn't happened is a lower tolerance for alcohol. If anything, I can drink even more now without feeling any effects, and I can shake off a hangover extremely quickly.

I turned 30 a few months ago. So not that old. But I'm a "senior engineer" now and I am mentoring a new kid just out of college. Talking with him makes me feel like a geezer. He's never seen Ghostbusters, Major League, Top Gun, or any other late 80's-early 90's movie.

Also, listening to the Lithium channel on XM (90's alternative) and having the new kids call those "oldies".

While my tolerance is higher. The hangovers come way too easily. It doesn't even take much. And the heartburn from Captain Morgan. Man that sucks. Never had that when I was younger
Exaggeration is a BILLION times worse than understating.

Another thing I'd add is having to worry about my parents getting old. I didn't think about my parents' retirement, health status, income, etc. for a single second in my early 20s, but I'm getting to the point where there are some big issues coming down the pike.

Having a clerk say, as I bought Black Ops II, "Oh, I don't need to see your ID. You're definitely way older than 17."

    Rock on, kid. Nicely done.

I'm not quite 30 yet so maybe I don't have some of the symptoms yet. But I sometimes feel like I'm having a series of small heart attacks after eating certain foods sometimes. MAYBE it's heartburn . . .

This is when you have to beat the kids at their own game. Get up early enough that you have "me" time to read the paper, play on the computer, exercise, or whatever. That seems to give you more energy the rest of the day. On the other hand, toddlers do seem to wear you out, if I remember correctly.

Re: What do you hate about getting older?

    For me.....

Realizing that the kids that were born the year I graduated from ISU have just graduated from college.(1991)

I played competitive(as in league) basketball and softball until I was around 37 and still run 3-4 times a week and find that I will stop and walk more with lower legs hurting more. When I was in my 20's to early 30's I could run in mocassins and my feet felt fine. Now I need $150 shoes with inserts to keep my feet from killing me at the end of a run. Pretty much done with athletics with any competition but figured I would be like my dad who played in competitive leagues until he was in his mid 50's......and still might be playing if he didn't tear his ACL.

Having a teenage daughter this year makes me feel old. I used to know everything with her.....now not so much.

Someone made a comment about time moving faster as you get older. I figured out that life is like a roll of toilet paper.....The closer you get to the end, the faster it spins.

No receding hair yet or graying hair but my goatee is about totally gray.....WTH

Probably the biggest thing I hate is when your young, it's your grandparents generation that are losing parents and aunts/uncles, then you parents are dealing with the loss of my great aunts/uncles and grandparents. Now they are all gone and we are dealing with the failing health of our aunts/uncles and parents. That has affected me a lot more than I thought. Parents who knew all / did all are now not so sharp / strong. This part has really hit me lately, but my wife has lost 2 aunts in the past 3 months and we dealing with mother in law going through breast cancer. This part sucks

The fact that in another 20 yrs I am the generation that is starting to go downhill.
