What do you hate about getting older?
Just curious about what is frustrating for everyone else who is showing signs of aging. Personally, I've shaved my head for about 10 years as my hair was going anyway and there was just nothing to be done with it. I've made my peace with God on that one, BUT:
The hair making workers have evidently transferred to my eyebrows in some kind of cruel joke, but they only work every once in a while, but when they do, watch out. I'll be going along looking normal, and wake up one morning to find that my little workers have gone double time, and I look like Andy Rooney. Had one eye brow hair grow a half inch in one night- I swear .

Also no footie pajamas now, what's the deal with that?

Hairy ears mean only one thing to me, I'm becoming old. (two things if you count my periodic wolfmanism)

How easy it is to get (and hard to get rid of) the spare tire.

Re: What do you hate about getting older?
I was leaving the Y after a workout one day, and this little boy (maybe 2-3) and his dad were ahead of me. The little boy kept looking back at me and smiling. Then he said something to his dad, which I couldn't hear. I did hear his dad's response of, "No, that's not Grampa."

Not being able to function on as little sleep. This is particularly inconvenient with a toddler.

I'm only 27 but my hair has been vanishing since at least 22. I also have white hairs in my beard. By the time I'm 40 I'm going to look like Hans Moleman.

Everyone reminding me how old I am.....
"For the great enemy of truth is very often not the lie -- deliberate, contrived, and dishonest -- but the myth -- persistent, persuasive, and unrealistic. Too often we hold fast to the clichés of our forebears. We subject all facts to a prefabricated set of interpretations. We enjoy the comfort of opinion without the discomfort of thought."

I am feeling this too in mid 30s compared to mid 20s, but I've read when you get really old you only can sleep like 6 hours if you want to? What's up with that? I want that right now just for my career. Is that even true? The book was "The Thing About Life is That One Day You'll Be Dead" and summarizes what the body is going through at every age.

So, if old people go to bed at 7 p.m., are they just up for the day at 1 a.m.?

Man, I want to be old. This full head of hair is a nuisance. I even have to get it thinned out every time I get a haircut.
