I'm going to be away from the country next summer for business. Don't want to miss my Twins games. What is the best way to receive American TV in Europe? I have heard of Slingbox technology but don't know much. I know about MLB.com but would like to get something with a broader selection. Any input is appreciated. Thanks.
Slingbox will work as long as you have fast speeds on both sides. You can just hook it to your cable box/dish receiver. I've used it multiple times overseas.
I have it with my dish box. It may be the greatest invention ever. I've only used it when the wife drags me along on her shopping trips though. Occasionally I have had to reset the thing if something freezes so if you don't have someone around you may get stuck.
We are looking at one. I am leaning towards Belkin's @tv plus. Same idea, but seems to be much better reviewed on Amazon. Vulkano is the other player in the market.
I am watching it right now. I stream my home Dishnet to my office and have it running on a laptop on my desk. Hangs up occassionally, but basically no problems. I have 2 up at home, so I do not the fastest connection but it works even in HD.
My next step is to put it on by Razr HD MAXX and have it everywhere.
I would look into buying the Slingbox 350. I've had two slingbox models and the first one still runs like a champ (only low def) and the other one broke after less than a year and they've had a lot of problems with them.
