I find it hard to believe that was the only call they got of someone trying to get information on Kate. It sounds like she was just the one who transferred the call to another nurse - she didn't actually give details. I can't believe any reasonable person would think that the Queen and Prince would just call up like that and ask questions of a receptionist/nurse. My brother was hospitalized once and due to extenuating circumstances, I didn't know which hospital. So I was calling around trying to at least get the right hospital and it was hell to even get them to tell me over the phone if he was a patient, much less any details. And my brother isn't royalty! I imagine the hospital will do some major overhaul on their phone call screening procedures.
It's terrible that she felt she needed to end her life over this.
This brings up a good question. How are hospitals and similar institutions supposed to filter out the real from the fake? It's not like they could ask for the queen's personal info to confirm it was her. Certainly not everything can be done in person...
I don't know what the laws in the UK are but here no one is allowed to give out personal medical info without written consent from the patient.
I would feel terrible if I were one of the DJ's. A prank on a local radio is one thing, but it ends up globally humiliating two women and one kills herself. In our world you have to assume you are always on tape, camera or being manipulated by media. If you are on a prank show I believe you can refuse to have your identity revealed, but these women had no choice. I didn't think it was clever or funny, and I thought the jerky boys were hilarious. Pranking a pizza place is one thing, but invading a celebrities privacy on air is another.
"I'll eat up all your crackers and your licorice."
For some reason, people over there go Ape-S*** over anything dealing with the Royal Family. Kate better not say a word if there are some complications with the pregnancy or there will be mass hysteria.
