I used to raise & sell trees and still have a number of overgrown ones on my property. We bought an artificial last year, but the lone remaining daughter insisted on real this year. Of course they went out and picked a 10'er that had to be shortened at both ends. It's too big for the traditional location in the house and takes up half the dinning room.
1. I don't think our apartment complex allows real trees
3. We come back to Iowa for Christmas, so it's impractical to have a real tree die and become a fire hazard because nobody was there to take care of it
I heard that dead trees spontaneously combust in alarmingly high numbers
