Basketball at Northern Iowa. Why? Because I could go there, start right away and probably avg 40 points a game.

Re: If you were the #1 recruit in the country...

Tough question, as my favorite sport is college basketball, but I'm not the least bit a fan of the NBA. On the other hand I watch zero college baseball but love major league baseball.
I suppose though that if I were the number one basketball recruit in the nation, I'd be a big NBA fan.
So I'll go with basketball, and I'd go to somewhere like Indiana (if ISU was truly not an option).

Miami, under Jimmy, during the heyday.

I reaffirmed this a year ago while watching the ESPN 30 for 30 about the U.

Re: If you were the #1 recruit in the country...

Running back- Football. I would commit to Iowa.

Then a few days later I would de-commit and watch the fan base meltdown when I committed to ISU.

I know I can't commit to ISU so it would have to be WSU. But the above would be sooo fun.

I'd take Indiana as well. It'd be cool to play in Assembly Hall and I'd still be in the midwest.

Re: If you were the #1 recruit in the country...

Good idea to eliminate Iowa State as an option — if I had ever been recruit-worthy, I'd love to be the program's high-impact guy.

Mostly ignoring any disdain/fanhood I've had for specific programs (and at the risk of showing how old I am):

    Actual age-range:
    Football: Miami
    Basketball: North Carolina

    Committing today:
    Football: LSU/Oregon
    Basketball: Michigan

Football, USNA, one of the only places it's legal to get paid to play, then get to serve as a officer(aviation, fighter pilot) afterwords and have a top flight degree. that and the women in the Annapolis/Baltimore/D.C./College park area aren't to shabby. Bag me a rich one at one of the Yacht clubs on the Severn or Chesapeake Bay, then live happily ever after.

I'm not just your football coach; I'm not just here to win games. I could not be prouder of who we are and who we are becoming, together. You do things right in the classroom, off and on the field; that's whats's makes us Cyclones and that's what our culture's all about."

Golf and Id go pro right away, if I have to go to school then Stanford or somewhere in Nocal/ San Fran area. You can make the most money in golf, never get injured and play till you retire.
