It probably drums the warning home if you wake up.

Two questions...
Will my flight home to Des Moines be delayed from Dallas this afternoon?
Will I be able to drive from Des Moines to Milwaukee Friday?

Will I be able to drive from Des Moines to Milwaukee Friday? Depends on flight time, but afternoon you might be alright. Late afternoon evening you might be hosed..
I would assume Friday will be driveable and pry OK, but you definitly wont set any record times.
But, who knows, all a guess.

Roads were icy as **** this morning, but I was fine until right at the very slight hill coming down to turn into work. I'm going slow but I can see the road is sheer ice. And who is waiting to turn in but my boss. I was about 85% sure I was going to have to just go on by and come back because I couldn't get slowed down to turn because if I braked any harder (as in actually using them), I was pretty sure I would end up hitting my boss's vehicle. No bueno. Thankfully, there was a small clear patch right before the driveway that I could get some traction. Should we be concerned at all about any rain falling first and freezing?

What time is your flight? It is not supposed to start snowing in DSM until after 4pm.

I'm also in a car 20 years newer than the one I had last winter. And that car, for all its faults, was a beast in the snow. So not only am I adjusting to winter driving again, I'm having to handle it with kid gloves until I know exactly how it handles.
Is that weather alert thing to your phone something new? About 20 minutes ago a bunch of phones and a radio started buzzing and they all said they got an alert. I've heard them on the radio before, but I can't remember it hitting all the phones.

I found where to adjust the settings on what you get alerted on. Turned all of them off that I could turn off.
