Cancellations are popping up quickly at DSM. The earliest one currently is Charlotte at 9:30PM

Do what was suggested above with the beer and the hot tub - except skip the Shiner and pick up some St. Arnold's. You'll thank me for it.

We're starting to get a very light rain in Omaha
They say country music speaks to the heart. Unfortunately, it has to go through your ears to get there.

Can someone explain why the US was doing without weather reports?

    Re: Midweek snow storm

Anyone recommend an affordable snow removal service in Ames?

I usually shovel the drive but with the amount they are talking about and the drifting I'm leaning towards just paying someone to do it this time.

very cool! I love big snow storms, mostly because when I lived on the farm, they sucked, but we didn't have to go anywhere. As long as it wasn't bitterly cold, it wasn't awful. Pretty much the same in cubeland. My dad talks about the winter of 1978 and having to dig paths for the milkman and other vehicles. Like having a huge wall of snow on either side of the road.

It was during WW2 and the weather reports were censored to keep our enemies from getting any useful knowledge. Like "oh, hey, huge blizzard, so if you were to attack, there'd be no way for us to fight back during this time."

They quit doing that after a hurricane hit Houston in the summer of 1943 that nobody was warned about.
    Cyclonepride and ISUME like this.
