I had a texting discussion with a friend the other day on this topic when I asked him about Garmon(sp?) leaving. He (Iowa fan) misspelled Rhoads as Rhodes when talking about CPR and I informed him of his mistake. He said he should change it because Rhodes is a town in Iowa and Rhoads loves Iowa. I told him the Rhoads family name is older than the state of Iowa. Interesting discussion, I know.

As someone who grew up in Ottumwa, and is back there over christmas break, Ottumwa is the worst town in the state. And I've been all over (Fort Dodge, Marshalltown, Keokuk, etc)

There definitely needs to be different categories based on population. I've lived in Marshalltown most of my life so every small town seems worse to me. I'm used to having places to eat, places open 24 hours, places for everything I need. How about a 4A, 3A, 2A, 1A breakdown.

The only thing out there are fields and Nebraska.

I'm surprised no one has mentioned Johnston.

My property taxes go to pay for schools and I don't have any children.

My neighbor across the street has a nice looking mustang but it has a loud exhaust.

There is no easy way to get downtown des moines without going around and taking 80/35

141 gets busy around 4:30-5pm

Urbandale has a much better Hy-Vee

They won't allow the homeless to stand on the Merle Hay exit any more
