Ask an Iowan about a restaurant. The first thing they'll talk about is portion size.
How is Burlington not running away with this contest??

Keokuk is way worse than both Burlington and Fort Madison. I'd vote for Tama and Denison. Some people are just naming small towns. Zearing for instance is a small town but really not all bad. St Anthony I don't think you can even call a town but does have a decent bar/restaurant.

In Ottumwa, at least I feel there's some breathing room. This is exactly whey we can't have an impartial discussion on best/worst towns. She hates the density of Columbus, which is only 2,200 per square mile. If you grew up in a small town that may be a lot but if you grew up in a city (city, not suburbs like me) that is not a lot at all. In fact, one of my main frustrations about smaller towns is how sparse they are. I much prefer houses with alleys yet most of Iowa is huge lots with tons of cars in the driveways and lawns.

If you think the worse town in Iowa is in Polk County, you really need to get out more.

The blizzard will tell the tale. Whatever town or city is left untouched is the worst one in Iowa. That's the one that wasn't worth shutting down.
