Thanks! It sounds like you're focused on the legs, which may be somewhat of a problem. We already know your right leg is out and you don't want to clutter up your left leg with too many tattoos so it's going to have to be your middle leg. And I'm afraid that's going to severely limit our options due to lack of space.

I the state of Iowa outlined in cardinal and filled in with gold. Not as "trashy" as a mascot but works in the colors of the old alma mater.

Re: Cyclone tattoo ideas
Tattoos are stupid. They always look cool at first, but I have never met anyone who is 40+ with tattoos who didn't look trashy.

I won't use that forceful of language, but being a resident fogey who has ability to hire I would caution anyone to be VERY deliberate in the decision.
But body piercings are different. Have yet to see a nose or tongue stud that doesn't scream "professional". -
Re: Cyclone tattoo ideas
I like the "loyal sons forever true" idea. What about in black light ink on the arm? How could it be done tasefully? Maybe wrapped around the outline of the state?
I am also getting "matthew 6:27" in latin on my upper back for what its worth.

I am also getting "matthew 6:27" in latin on my upper back for what its worth. I'd get it in grayscale/shading inside the outline of the state.

Re: Cyclone tattoo ideas
Just make sure it means something to you. I have one tattoo of the names of my 3 daughters around a family tree on my shoulder. The next tattoo I will be getting is the Cy leaning on the I, except the I will be replaced by a Cancer ribbon honoring my Mother in Law who passed away two years ago at the age of 56 from lung cancer. She was a die hard Cyclone fan like all of us and I think it would be a great way to honor her and her love for the Cyclones.

You should get a little butterfly on your lower back. -
Re: Cyclone tattoo ideas
You guys are bringing me down. I've been trying to get my husband to get a old school Cy tat on the back of his calf for a couple of years.

Not a Tat man myself, but if you're worried about something changing...to me, I think the "I STATE":
Will have the longest life span and least likely to change.
FWIW: the official brand identity document if it helps: http://www.cyclones.com/pdf3/91103.pdf -

Maybe get a "58" for the year it was founded, or something sort of cryptic. JMO, though. This is the best idea I've ever heard regarding an ISU tat. Definitely something I'll consider in the future. Don't have any tattoos yet, but mainly because I haven't found anything that means enough to me.
& for career reasons I wouldn't do anything dumb in a visible spot. I'd keep it limited to a place that would always be covered by a shirt.
