anyone have experience with Canon T3i or B & H Photo?
Looking to get a new DSLR for my wife for her birthday and looking at a Canon T3i at B & H photo for $599 with long and short lens. Anyone bought anything from these guys? Most of the reviews I have seen have been really good, but sometimes I think these online reviews are stuffed ballot boxes.
Also, is it worth spending the extra money to get the T3i over the T3? If so, why?
Thanks

I picked up a t3i last year and have been very happy with it. B&h is a good company to buy from. T3i has better sensor, video, and rotating lcd over the t3. Definately worth the upgrade.

I love my T3i. Great camera and really fun to play with. Didn't get it from B&H though....

B&H is probably the best online retailer for photography equipment.

B & H is great, no worries there

B&H is awesome, and I have a T3i model from about 3 years ago (the last to come without video, I think). I didn't know much about photography, and it's been a great learning tool while also taking some pretty decent photos.
If you go with it, it's often sold as a "kit" with a stock 15-55mm zoom lens...that lens is crap for quality, so I'd recommend picking up this 50mm fixed to go along with it: Canon EF 50mm f/1.8 II Autofocus Lens 2514A002 B&H Photo Video You can often find them for around $100 and it's worth every cent; the difference in quality between this and the kit lens is astounding. If your wife wants additional lenses beyond those, I wouldn't settle for anything less than Canon's L-series (the ones with the red ring around the end)...they're pricey, but anything less would only be a marginal improvement in quality over the kit lens, AND this way you'll have nice lenses if you ever wanted to upgrade the camera.
Hope this helps; I'd also invest in some image processing software (Aperture or Photoshop) so you can work with the RAW files rather than the camera-processed JPG or PNG images.

This. My wife has purchased several lenses from B&H and we've never had a problem with them. I would also second DistrictCyclone's recommendation for the 50 mm fixed lens.

B&H Photo is so awesome I don't even LOOK anywhere else for tons of things I buy. I purchase for my art department and my wife is a photographer so I can't imagine how much we've spent with them. Only bad thing is there are Jewish holidays sometimes where they won't ship.

Wow, thanks for all the recomendations. Wife currently has a Sony A100 but it is just not a very good camera, especially for indoor shots. Bought a dedicated flash which helps some, but it is kind of a pain to put that on to take a quick shot of the kids.

bought the T3i with short and long kit lenses and extra battery for $625 today, with free shipping and no tax from B&H. Thanks for all the input.

Seems like you already made up your mind, but just wanted to throw one last shout out for B&H. I've bought a DSLR (t1i) a flat screen TV and all kinds of other gadgets from them and they are usually at or close to the cheapest price, shipping is almost always free and no sales tax. Can't be beat, though Amazon comes in a close second for me.
