Re: Do you Tip Furniture Delivery guys or not?
I'll tip a food delivery driver a couple bucks on top of the service fee. If I pick it up don't tip at all. As for furniture, I would say it's not expected. I just figured food people are driving their own vehicles normally while furniture people are not.

Re: Do you Tip Furniture Delivery guys or not?
I have never tipped furniture guys, but always tip delivery guys. Not sure why, since delivering a pizza is many magnitudes simpler than delivering a couch or a freezer.
Though I've learned over the years, that if you ask the question, "should I tip the . . . " someone will always answer "yes." I'm going to start demanding that our customers tip me personally for the work I do . . . -

I think because historically delivery guys get paid less and rely on tips.

Or what about when you order food at a place and pick up, do you tip then either? I usually only tip $1 there but wasn't sure what others do. I think that tipping nothing would be better than $1

So if I wrote an article that said it is customary to tip VTXCyRyd every time he post something you would start to send me money?

What about places that have their own delivery vehicles and have to pay for things like gas, insurance, maintenance on the vehicle? The driver might not see any of a delivery fee in that case.

Re: Do you Tip Furniture Delivery guys or not?
Nothing pisses me off more than the new $2-$3 "delivery fee" from pizza places. The drivers see nothing and the pizza place does NOTHING more than they would for carry-out. I hate it but I still tip the driver (although not as much as I used to) because its not his fault.

You're much nicer then I. I refuse to dish out extra money because of an employers "unfair" policy. This is why I always get carry-out anymore, its just much cheaper for me to get in my car and get it myself, and I don't feel guilty not tipping.

Re: Do you Tip Furniture Delivery guys or not?
Ive delivered pizza and furniture before and never got tipped for furniture other than a candy bar here and there, but I didn't really expect it as much because I was making more the 5.25 an hour that I made delivering pizza. While tipping is controversial and many don't know when and what is expected, it is a good way of making a sure that you continue to get quality service and is a lot more helpful to someone trying to pay for college than a thank you. I work for tips and while I don't expect a tip for every drink I make, I do expect a tip because that is why I am working the job I do. This is why when you go to McDonalds you don't always have the best service or the brightest working because there is no money is in it. If you are unsure of tipping, ask. No one is ever going to tell you to tip if it is not expected, and most will tell you the average tip because a tip worker, you don't want to **** the customer off when you tell them a higher number than what is normal because they A: won't come back or B: Never tip again and neither are good for me or the employer.
