Any HVAC experts?

Just curious if anyone's knowledgeable about Furnaces. I have a Coleman Evcon DGU10020UB (gas, forced air) made most likely in 1999. It's heating the house fine but I've noticed the past week or so that when the blower kicks on it has a gotten pretty loud for the first 2-3 seconds before it just starts blowing air like normal.

Anyone with any guesses? Blower going bad maybe? Normally I can find most information via google and diagnose/fix myself without having to call a serviceman but I'm not having much luck this time.

Just a guess, but sounds like you might have a bearing in the blower going bad. If that's the case, should be a fairly simple repair.

Well, there was the big shwamus valve recall in "04" and then the stelner linkage problem in "05." Seriously that's something I wouldn't mess with. I'd call the pros.

Go to Grainger and buy replacement fan motor. Pretty simple repair. Very low risk.

Agree with others saying to replace the blower motor. Should be easy to replace.

Just reread my post didn't mean to sound so inflammatory, sorry. Past experience says that I can almost always fix/replace for less than the cost of even having a service person show up at my door to diagnose the issue.
