I've defended mediacom but this is ridiculous
So I've had mediacom cable (internet only) for about 2 years. I've been thinking of adding tv so I hopped on their website to try and compare packages and prices etc. I click on the "Video" tab and on that page they have a button for prices and packages. Click that and it asks for my address and whether I'm new or existing customer. Takes me to a page with 2 bundles on it that are nothing that I want. Click on the video tab...and stuck in endless loop. If I select new customer it gives me a few other bundles but at no point can you see prices and packages for anything other than those select few bundles.
So I called in. After a few minute wait, I get a CSR and tell him how ridiculous this is. He says he can send me a channel list and rates so I said ok and give him my email to which he says well only the channel list is being sent thru email. The prices will be sent separately in the mail.
Really? The mail? You're a company that sells internet service and you're relying on mail to try and show people what their options are? Might as well use the pony express. This is just dumb. I can click on any satellite company's page and find out in a second what is available. How on earth do they expect to make any sales if customers can't see what they are getting?
I would like to give mediacom a chance since they will have the cyclone network but at this point I may just order dish and renew the cylcones.tv So frustrating.

You likely got a bad CSR, call again or go tell someone on the support forum that you had a bad experience.

Why Dish? I gave up on mediacom a long time ago. Go with Directv. Never had a single issue with them.

/rantover(for now) In their defense, it doesn't really matter what they tell you the prices are since they vary by $2.63 the next month, then $1.77, then $4.29 and so on.

Not neccessarily dish network sorry just referring to a general term. But probably leaning towards Dish since slightly cheaper. Although I would really like to see Mediacom's offering because you can just order one of the packs (I think) that has the science channel so only about 6 bucks extra as opposed to having to order the highest priced package as the only way to get the science channel.

It's like they not wnt new customers. I think their prices are actually pretty competitive with directv/dish but who would know that.

There are not many crowds or places in the country that have a better impact on the game than at Iowa State. The Cyclone fans are truly a sixth man. The place is so loud and always a fantastic crowd." - Former Kansas and current North Carolina head coach Roy Williams -

Isn't one of your main criteria to get the service that gives you the best chance to get Cyclone televised games? If not, consider Dish. If yes, it would be the worse option of the 3.

I just always go into the building when I have issues, they can't give you the runaround if youre there.

My issue with them is the internet goes out constantly. I remember during the summer when I was in my hometown there was a rant in the paper about the internet sucking so bad. Mediacom came back saying the internet was going down because it was so hot out this summer.

Not so sure Mediacom even with a ISU channel would be number 1 since you can get it all the Cyclone stuff online as well. DirectV has more live ISU games than anyone.
