Re: Farm Kids Develop Stronger Immune Systems
Grew up on a farm and was outside all the time- in the shed, pastures, cattle barns, corm/bean fields, grain bins.... with that said, I have absolutely horrible allergies. None of my family has allergies, just me. Its the type when everything blooms in the spring and the pollen shows up till it freezes in the fall type of allergies. I bask in the glory of late fall and winter! Otherwise I a hardly ever get sick. Nothing that lasts more than a couple days, maybe once a year

I grew up on a hog farm, had to do chores every day, and am rarely sick. When I get sick, its really bad, but it doesn't happen too much. Yea, I'm not sure how often she was in the barns. She is also a first year teacher, though, so probably why she's getting sick so often.
As a city boy, every time I'm at her parents' house, I want to go look at the pigs, haha! Especially the little guys.

Re: Farm Kids Develop Stronger Immune Systems
Fewer and fewer kids are being raised on farms and actively involved. So, anti-bacterial products are a good thing. We can either go back in time and move people back to the farm, or we can keep our hands clean. Which seems more plausible? Originally Posted by Bamacyclone -

A lot of them actually seem to be city people coming out to the country to live a "farm" lifestyle. Some around us and they are pretty nice.

I hate it when news providers are too lazy to offer a write-up along with their video clips. How am I supposed to not pay attention in meetings when my news is delivered via a noisy video? Boo.
