As for the wallet, I carry one of those big checkbook/wallet combo deals. I tried just going with a money clip card holder one and just didn't like it plus I had to keep track of where my checkbook was. I'm sure i look like a dork at the bar pulling this big thing out but it's functionable.

Guys, sorry about the derail. I guess it begs the question - do you just get a cheapo wallet that is going to wear out quickly, or invest more and get one that lasts longer? In the long run, which lasts longer? I got my husband a Ralph Lauren leather wallet about six years ago while I was on a work trip that is still in great condition.

I've had a black one for about ten years also still in great shape.

To the OP, I rarely keep anything in my pockets. my phone, keys (which I typical walk around with in my hand) and wallet all come right out of the pockets and onto my desk as soon as I get to work. Needless to say I leave them at the office and restaurants or in my car (not the keys) often.

I think I write a total of 2 checks each month, which are put in the mail. Only reason I write them is because a couple bills I pay don't accept online payments for some reason. I'd be perfectly happy if I never had to write another check again.

Probably 5 a month or so. I just don't want to have to worry about if my checkbook is in my desk or in my pickup or whatever.

Bank of America online bill pay is awesome. I can put all my bills on there and just type in the amount and the due date for each. If there's someone that doesn't accept online payments they will mail them a check at no cost and they guarantee they receive it on time.

I generally have chapstick, a pen, knife, and USB drive in my pocket. Never use the USB, but I feel weird without it.

Also my phone, wallet, and handkerchief. Yes, and I am under 30.
