My whole post was supposed to be "tongue-in-cheek". After re-reading it, that was not apparent at all. I could care less if my sub sandwich is 11 7/8".

Most people don't care about the size of the bread..its what they do with it. Their steak and cheese is delicious.

As someone stated earlier, the amount of dough is the same. So you get either long and skinny or short and fat. So, my question to those who know about such things: which is preferable?

I for one want a lady's opinion on this. If a subway sandwich is smaller, but contains the same fresh ingredients, is it less satisfying? Say, the longer subway doesn't last as long as the shorter one, does that make a difference? What if the shorter sandwich is warmer and does more to excite you before the act of eating it, is that a better experience?

You know, more sandwich is not always a good thing. At some point the marginal rate of enjoyment stops going up. Quality, not quantity of sandwich.

Not to mention some people can't take down a whole sandwich. If they do it causes a tummy ache anyway so it can be a bad thing.
