New TV Advice
Browsing the web I came across this 60 inch Sharp LCD for $734 & was wondering if anyone has any opinions on it. Sharp - AQUOS - 60" Class (60-1/32" Diag.) - LCD - 1080p - 120Hz - HDTV - Piano Black - LC-60E69U
I currently have a 42 inch Panasonic Plasma that I love, but am looking for something bigger without breaking the bank. The biggest complaint I've seen on this Sharp is the sound, which isn't really a concern of mine since I will have it set up with surround sound. I'm also not interested in 3D, & will have it connected to an XBox 360 so the fact that it's not 'Smart' doesn't matter to me either.
Anyone have any experience with Sharp sets? Recommend, not recommend? It just seems like a great price for a 120 hz 60 inch set. Thanks in advance.

I have a 42" LG and would never look back, just my two cents though.

Still appreciate the effort, though! Well ****, didn't notice that. In my opinion, you're not going to get the best of the best for that price at that size, but I would go for it if I was in the market for a new TV. Sharp isn't on the same level as Sony or Samsung, but they're also not a piece of **** like Westinghouse or one of those other off-brand TV's

Re: New TV Advice
Not bad, not a smart tv, and not LED, but it should be good for the $$.
I just got my first sharp tv when my Samsung died. I highly suggest Costco for TV purchases. My 46" Samsung died and they gave me a 100% refund after 14 months. So I upgraded to a 70" LED.

I have an older Sharp Aquos and it's been solid.
I'd agree with you, but then we'd both be wrong. -

Re: New TV Advice
OLED technology will be my next TV. First one coming from LG this year to the US. TV is only 4mm deep and weighs less than 8lbs for a 55" screen. Expensive as hell for the first one (12k), but should come down rapidly over the next few years: LG 55EM960V Television - This 55" OLED TV is an eco-friendly revolution in picture quality and ultra slim design - LG Electronics UK -
