Later this year, the British sci-fi series Doctor Who will celebrate its 50th anniversary. The original series ran from 1963-1989, and there was an unsuccessful attempt to revive the series through a television film in 1996. It wasn’t until the reboot of the series in 2005 that Doctor Who has taken off again.
Have no clue what Doctor Who is about, or perhaps your only reference is the “cheesy production value” episodes that ran late at night on PBS years ago? Here’s a video that might help you at least get some of the basics of the show. (And hey, the girl’s pretty cute, too)
Obviously, we can’t cover 40+ seasons within one game. This game will happen within the last two episodes of the fourth season of the reboot. (“The Stolen Earth”, “Journey’s End”) Doctor Who is available on Netflix if a) You want to attempt to start watching Doctor Who or b) You only want to watch these three episodes. (Please let me make another suggestion if you don’t want to do either of the above. Go to Season 3 and watch “Blink”. The Doctor does not play a central role in this episode, but this is considered the best episode of Doctor Who ever amongst many fans)
I would like at least 25 players, and will most likely be capping this game at 30. Since I started the sign-up thread a bit late, I will keep sign-up open until 4pm CT on Sunday.
