Route Announced for 2013 RAGBRAI (overnighting in Des Moines 07/23)
The route for this year's RAGBRAI was announced today. It looks like an interesting route and it is always a good time when it stops in DM. RAGBRAI 2013: Short, south, through Des Moines | RAGBRAI -

It'd be awesome if Lance Armstrong rode this year and finished in the middle of the pack since he's off the juice.

While I'm happy it's coming close to home for me, I'm not usually a fan of the larger overnight cities because things get so spread out and you lose the RAGBRAI atmosphere. That said, I think this will be a fun route which should allow plenty of time for off-bike activities.

I may have to ride the first half this year. I missed last year, thankfully.

Good route for DSM people to do CB to Knoxville and never be too far from home. 70% of Ragbrai'ers are from out of state? That must just be for the ones that actually register?

I will probably do the perry -> DSM -> Knoxville and just spend the night at home. I guess I need to go buy a new bike now.

2013 RAGBRAI Route
Don't know how many other RAGBRAIers are on CF, but the 2013 route announcement was yesterday and I, for one, am pumped!
July 20th: Council Bluffs
July 21st: Harlan
July 22nd: Perry
July 23rd: Des Moines
July 24th: Knoxville
July 25th: Oskaloosa
July 26th: Fairfield
July 27th: Fort Madison
This is the second shortest route in RAGBRAI history (406.6 miles) and it goes through DM, so I'm expecting to have a lot of new people riding this year.
Other than the Council Bluffs - Harlan - Perry combo, it should be a realllllllllllllly flat RAGBRAI too.
Hopefully I'll see some other CFers on the road this year!
