NWS now forecasting 4-6 inches for Des Moines with locally higher amounts possible.

Systems seems to be moving slightly SE. Totals dropped on KCCI from this morning to noon. Still showing around 4" for Des Moines, but only 90 miles NW of Des Moines it's about an 1.5". If it keeps moving SE then Cental Iowa may not get much.
Looks like it snows from about 3am through late morning right now.
Right now, Ames looks like it should switch over to snow about 6pm as we dip well below freezing. Heaviest snow looks to be between midnight and 5am with flurries after that throughout the day. Around 5 inches total accumulation.
On the wxcaster it says 1-2 for us now. No one knows what the hell is going on with this damn thing.
It's getting colder here in CR much faster then what they had predicted, they are upping projections for this part of the state 4-7 inches from what I am seeing now.
