The AMERICANS
Anybody catch this?
I had high hopes but it was just good and not very good, imo. They committed one of my biggest pet peeves by using period music which was wrong for the period. It's set in 1981 and they played that stupid-***ed Phil Collins "comin' in the air tonight" tune or whatever which came out much later. Also, they didn't really sell 1981 that hard, imo.
RIP Janice

" In the Air Tonight" is a song written and recorded in 1979 by British singer and musician, Phil Collins. It first appeared on Collins' 1981 solo album entitled Face Value. The track remains one of Collins' best-known hits. The song's 1981 music video directed by Stuart Orme received heavy play on MTV when the new cable music video channel launched in August 1981.

Re: The AMERICANS
My brother in law told me about it this morning. I'm currently reading The Venona Secrets, so this sounds like something I want to catch.

Nevertheless I was kind of underwhelmed. I'll keep watching for awhile though. I'll also send an email to the production staff to apologize...

I liked it enough to watch it again.

Re: The AMERICANS
I liked it. DVR is set to record the series...
In case anyone who hasn't seen the previews or watched the show, Keri Russell is smokin' hot at 36.

Re: The AMERICANS
It's not quite 24 yet.... But they could get it there. I think it was a good start, but it was early to move the FBI agent across the street IMO.
Definitely not for kiddos.....

Re: The AMERICANS
Watched it, dvr'd it, am going to watch it again...not a huge fan of the 80's music (personally) but beyond that it was very good.
Cyclone fan since 1964 and proud of it!
