Re: God Made A Farmer commercial = EPIC!
It'll be interesting to see what Dodge's market share in the farm segment does over the next 12-18 months. Or maybe they are borrowing interest from the "farm story" to appeal to city truck buyers. Either way, Dodge did it for sales, nothing else.

Really? They made a commercial, for sales?

Follow that link. Dodge is donating $1,000,000 to the National FFA based off of views and shares to that site. Good Cause. We are Iowa State. Do what you Do.
Re: God Made A Farmer commercial = EPIC!
That ad was definitely epic - in a sentimental claptrap kind of way.
Re: God Made A Farmer commercial = EPIC!
any of you that want to year the full version of God Made a Farmer, I'll have it on between 12:30-1:00 on my program at this site. The commercial was a shortened version. Will probably run it around 12:50

My favorite superbowl commercial - I actually watched it. There were many other dud commercials. I did go for the clydesdale raising the horse commercial though.

It's a good cause, but in the end it's still all about sales (and there's nothing wrong with that, in my book).
Re: God Made A Farmer commercial = EPIC!

Not at all! It is a pretty darn good mutual relationship between the two if you ask me.
Re: God Made A Farmer commercial = EPIC!
I'm a city boy and I still appreciated the commercial. Even more so now that I know they donated so much to FFA.

The American Farmer doesn't have many people stand up for him these days, with PETA, HSUS, and other organizations trying to stop our professions, but this was a huge step forward and in the right direction. You have your opinion, I have mine. Unfortunately, I don't see it the way you are seeing it.
And please keep the Amen aspect to the Politics-Religion board, thanks.

1,000,000? Unless they can stretch that really well, in the end that's not that much.

Sure is, but I think a few are overestimating their effect. And in the end its just a marketing ploy.
Re: God Made A Farmer commercial = EPIC!
From the National FFA Foundation
As many of you may have seen, the National FFA Foundation and National FFA Organization cooperated with RAM Trucks on a two-minute Super Bowl commercial honoring the American Farmer that aired during the fourth quarter of the telecast. The ad, which features a popular poem by the late broadcaster Paul Harvey, is being supported with a cover wrap of USA Today and a significant Web presence across other electronic media. The ad serves as a call to action for the public to celebrate 2013 as the Year of the Farmer. Individuals may do so by visiting a special Web page, viewing the positive messaging of the video and inviting others to do the same.http://www.ramtrucks.com/en/keepplowing/
RAM will contribute up to $1,000,000 to the National FFA Foundation based on the views of the video and activity on the website. The bulk of the new funding will be dedicated to supporting the FFA hunger initiative “Feeding the World–Starting at Home.”
The ad web page is not a sales site. Individuals will only be asked to view the video and recommend it to others. There is a link on the website for those interested in learning more about RAM products as well as a link for individuals wishing to learn more about FFA and agricultural education.
Supporting this positive messaging about the American Farmer will raise awareness of the National FFA Organization within the general public while providing significant support to a major FFA initiative. We ask that you share news about the opportunity among members and supporters as appropriate.
Many thanks,
Dwight Armstrong, Chief Executive Officer
National FFA Organization
Rob Cooper, Executive Director
National FFA Foundation
